1914, Offensive à outrance covers the campaigns in France and Belgium at the beginning of the First World War. These campaigns were the first titanic clashes of the 20th Century, ranging from the reductions of the Belgian forts, to the sweep of the German armies into Belgium and northern France, to France's aggressive plans to counter-attack into Alsace-Lorraine and the flank of the German armies. Historically France's recovery from these disasters would inaugurate the four year siege and ultimate defeat of Germany. However, wargames are made to explore the alternate possibilities: could the campaign have had another outcome?

This will be a weekend long team game for up to 6 players with each player commanding one or more armies. Players will be playtesting the second edition rules for this game with the designer, Michael Resch, who will be coming up to Seattle in order to participate. This game will be played on the premium 115% scale map available from Oregon ConSim Games.

Registration for this game will close on November 9th, eight days before play commences. Players will be sent PDFs of the rules so that they may be familiar with the system before the game commences. The game will be interrupted for approximately 2 hours between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm on November 18th for a club meeting.

Members of Metro Seattle Gamers are asked to log into their membership accounts in order to sign up for this event; others may choose to register as free guests of the members hosting this event.
